Explore the basics of successful vegetable gardening in the Pacific Northwest—from seed to table. Classes are taught by educators from Pierce County Public Works and Harvest Pierce County (a program of the Pierce Conservation District). Workshops are held in Puyallup the first Tuesday of the month. Other locations can be found on the Edible Gardens Workshop Series website. Classes are FREE but space is limited.  Pre-registration is recommended: online, or call (253) 798-4133.

Tackle problems in the garden with safe remedies, specific for gardening in western Washington.

July: Fall and Winter Gardening
Plant now to harvest fresh food this fall and winter! Learn when to plant and how to care for plants over the winter.

August: NO CLASSES

September: Composting Basics
Learn two different methods for turning your yard, garden and food waste into a valuable soil amendment.

October: Putting the Garden to Bed For the Winter
Winterize your garden so it is ready for spring with rich and healthy soil that is weed and pest free.

November: Perennial Edible Gardens
Grow a garden that returns year after year. Learn strategies for self-seeding plants and polycultures (variety).
