Andrea Garfinkel
Graduate student Andrea Garfinkel

Congratulations to our very own Andrea Garfinkel! Andrea was recently published in the Fall edition of FUNGI Magazine alongside two grad students from the WSU Pullman campus—Sean McCotter and Teresa Jardini. The students co-authored a paper on morel species that grow in landscape settings in the Pacific Northwest—morels being some of the most highly sought after edible macro fungi. The paper resulted from a class project in “Advanced Fungal Biology” that is team taught by Drs. Lori Carris and Tobin Peever with WSU’s Plant Pathology Department. Their professors Carris and Peever were published alongside them.

You can read their article titled Multiple Species of Morels Occur in Landscape Settings (pdf) at Fungi Magazine.
