Graduate Student Offices

Communal office space is provided graduate students working with faculty advisors at WSU Puyallup. Currently our facilities include two group offices located in Kalkus Hall featuring 11 individual work areas complete with power, phone, and network connections. Additionally, some programs offer office space for graduate students within their work areas. Students interested in studying at Puyallup are encouraged to work with their advisor early in the process to identify needs and available facilities.

Second Floor Group Office

  • Five individually-assigned desks, with power and network connectivity.
  • Shared in-suite printer.
  • Attached privacy room.

Third Floor Group Office

  • Six individually-assigned desks with power and network connectivity.
  • Shared in-suite printer.
  • Sink and coffee station.

Department-based Offices

Some programs reserve space for graduate students in combination with their own office and research facilities. Space availability and specific amenities will vary by program and students’ time of stay.

Other Amenities

In addition to office space, other amenities available to graduate students studying at the Puyallup Research and Extension Center include:

Lab, Field and Greenhouse space

Graduate students studying with faculty in Puyallup have access to field, lab and greenhouse space for applied research experiments.

P-2 Quarantine Facility

The Center is home to a quarantine facility, allowing ground-breaking research work on plant pathogens.

Student Housing

The Puyallup Research and Extension Center has a number of housing options available for graduate students coming from outside of western Washington. Students who are interested in studying in Puyallup and require help finding housing during their stay are encouraged to work with their faculty advisor as early as possible in the process to ensure space availability.

On-campus Fitness Center

The PREC fitness center is available for use by faculty, staff and students, and includes a variety of a fitness equipment and free weights.

Recreational Opportunities

In addition to research activities, the Puyallup Research and Extension Center is within easy distance to a wealth of recreational opportunities in western Washington and the Puget Sound including outdoor activities, museums, cultural and entertainment events, and more.
