Parking at the Center

The Puyallup Research and Extension Center is a research and extension campus with ample research farm land, however parking can sometimes be a challenge. Our goal is to provide adequate parking for all employees and visitors. While we operate under an open parking policy, was ask that visitors and employees respect all parking signs while on campus.

Where can I park at the Puyallup Research and Extension Center?

The main parking area for Kalkus Hall and the D.F. Allmendinger Center is located west of Kalkus Hall. Turn right at the top of the hill when entering the campus from West Pioneer. There are additional guest parking areas around the quad near the Old Administration Building.

If you are attending a class or other event, contact your event organizer for information about parking for attendees.

Is there a fee for parking at the Puyallup Research and Extension Center?

No, there is no fee or permit required to park at the Center. All parking is free and first come, first serve.

If a parking space is marked ‘Reserved’, can I park there?

Spaces marked ‘Reserved’ are for WSU Puyallup employees and short-term visitors only.

If a space is unmarked, can I park there?

Yes, however, if you are attending an event please refer to the instructions provided to you by the event organizer. We have a specified parking lot and overflow parking spaces for large events and respectfully request you use these lots. Additionally, please do not park in unmarked areas near building entrances. Vehicles blocking building access may be towed at the owner’s expense.

Can I park on the side of the street or along driveways?

We ask that you do not park on the side of the roads and driveways if possible to maintain access for emergency vehicles and avoid congestion. In the event that all parking spaces are filled, overflow parking is available behind the Facilities office, east the greenhouses (between the barn and two story brick building) and in the gravel area south of the auto shop/fuel station.

Where can I find disabled permit parking?

Permit-only parking spaces for those with mobility issues are located directly behind the D.F. Allmendinger Center (on either side of the rear stairs). Two ramps located north of the parking spaces provide building access: the ramp to the right leads to the Allmendinger Center and the ramp on the left goes to the ground floor of Kalkus Hall. Additional permit spaces are located across from the second floor entrance to Kalkus Hall (covered footbridge) and next to the entrance to the Old Administration Building.

I have more questions about parking.
